Dr. Francis has received special training in the surgical correction of astigmatism and presbyopia in cataract patients. Dr. Francis has been trained to implant both the ReZoom and ReStor multi-focal lenses which eliminate the need for reading glasses. Dr. Francis also performs laser vision corrective surgery utilizing the most advanced surface ablation techniques. He is an assistant professor in the Ophthalmology Department at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. Prior to joining University Eye Surgeons, Dr. Francis practiced medicine in Charleston for eight years.
