Marshall University Family Medicine

John Walden, MD
Chairman
Family Medicine

Welcome to the Web page for Family Medicine, the specialty that encompasses all ages, both sexes, and provides ongoing, comprehensive care for the individual and family as well as incorporating elements of wellness and prevention into everyday practice.

In addition to the broad knowledge-base required for Board Certification in Family Medicine, our physician group is made up of individuals with training and personal interest in a wide variety of specialty areas such as travel medicine, sports injuries and cosmetic procedures, to name just a few. Several of our doctors have active obstetrical practices and maintain hospital privileges for labor and delivery. Two of our doctors are authorized Civil Surgeons by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services to evaluate individuals applying for permanent residency in the United States. Our Division of Occupational, Environmental and Disability Medicine is staffed by physicians with special training and certification to provide the full gamut of services for acute workplace injuries and chronic complications of job-related injuries.

Patient appointments can be made at the Family Medicine Center located off Hal Greer Blvd in Huntington, Village Medical Center in Barboursville, and at University Family Medicine of Wayne County in Lavalette. Our in-patient hospital service is with Cabell Huntington Hospital, adjacent to the Family Medicine Center. Thank you for visiting the Web page of Family Medicine, the specialty that provides comprehensive care to individuals and whole families.
